Abstract

The QAA’s Guidance on Enterprise and Entrepreneurship Education highlights the importance of authentic learning, stakeholder collaboration, and reflective practice. This case study explores how these principles were embedded within the postgraduate module Entrepreneurship and Business Venturing at Buckinghamshire New University. Responding to student feedback requesting greater industry engagement, the module assessment was aligned with the inaugural BNU International Business Management Conference (May 2025). High-performing students progressed through internal pitching rounds, with finalists presenting their business ventures to a panel of industry leaders for cash prizes. This assessment-mapping approach enhanced authenticity, motivation, and professional engagement. The initiative offers a scalable and replicable model for strengthening employability, student engagement, and entrepreneurship education through assessment.
