Abstract
Highlights • A disaggregated airline/airport analysis of Chinese aviation markets was performed. • Chinese domestic markets are less impacted by COVID-19 than international markets. • The traffic of well financed/funded airline is likely to rebound earlier. • Premium and discretionary leisure traffic is likely to take longest to recover. • Airport impacts depend on airlines served, mix of traffic and location.
