This paper reports on the empirical evidence of the operating department practice trainees’ experiences, perceptions and expectations in the 3-week blog task to examine the extent to which "writing to learn" through blogging compared with the "learning to write" through prescribed reflective writing on course specified topics in an ePortfolio environment contributed to developing reflective practitioners using learning theories of constructivism, connectivism, critical reflection and community of practice as a curriculum renewal strategy in order to meet the needs of future and larger cohorts of trainees.
