Abstract

Buckinghamshire New University (BNU) is leading on a groundbreaking film project that highlights the untold stories of RAF Halton Apprentices Association (RAFHAA) - individuals whose contributions were instrumental in shaping the Royal Air Force (RAF). Led by Associate Professor, Dr. Tom McGorrian, The RAF Halton Apprentice Story delves deep into the lives and legacies of these apprentices, crafting a powerful tribute to their enduring impact. The documentary, which will premiere at the RAF Midlands and RAF Hendon Museums in late 2025, combines oral history interviews with archival footage to create a memorable portrayal of the apprentices' journeys. The project is not only a testament to historical storytelling but also an educational resource designed to promote public understanding of the RAF’s evolution and the essential role these individuals played.
